Our tips for enjoying this coffee:
We recommend this coffee for brewing extraction methods such as Pour Over, French press, Chemex, and similar techniques. Its delicate roast ensures a subtle and refined extraction with these methods.
While it can also be enjoyed using espresso, Turkish, or Moka pot methods, we generally suggest opting for one of our 1936 coffees for a more stable and balanced experience with these preparations.
You can enjoy it daily in our coffee shops, brewed with Kalita and Chemex.
About this selection:
Kenya – Kiawamururu AA
Sourced from Nyeri County, on the slopes of the Aberdare Range and Mount Kenya, this lot comes from the Kiawamururu washing station, managed by the Njimbi Farmers Community Based Organization. The cherries are produced by smallholder farmers cultivating, on average, less than one hectare at an altitude of 1,750 meters, on rich volcanic soils.
The farmers primarily grow the SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian varieties. The cherries are selectively handpicked at peak ripeness, carefully sorted, and processed using the washed method. This coffee is graded AA, the highest bean size classification in Kenya, representing the country's largest and most sought-after beans.
In the cup, it reveals notes of grape and rhubarb, followed by a chocolate finish.
